Our world traveler client wanted to finish his basement and highlight personal aspects of his travels. We created a bonus room in an eclectic style with antiques he collected from all over the world. This design included many surprises: wine crates broken down by hand and installed; an antique mirror behind the bar and decorative knob and tube wiring over it; timber from salvaged boats; and a custom stained glass piece made by his kids.
There’s a practical side to the space, too. The built-ins have room to display his treasures and behind the door is a half bath. Now reliving his adventures is as easy as a walk down the stairs.
